Dream, Sutton Manor - June 2019

8 members of the Walking Group braved the wet weather and walked 6 1/2 miles from Bold Heath up to Dream, Sutton Manor, previously a colliery. Luckily, the heavy rain stayed-off. The day concluded with a welcome cuppa in the nearby garden centre.

Purpose of Group:
The purpose of the Group is to provide safe and pleasant walking routes within the Merseyside area where people can meet and socialise whilst enjoying the environment.

We aim to choose walks that are on public transport routes allowing members to choose how far they walk with the option to leave at points en route.

Levels
You can choose between two categories of walking:
  • Ramblers - Walk at a steady, brisk pace and cover between 6 to 8 miles on a walk.
  • Amblers - Walks are normally shorter than the Rambler walks and are at a slower pace; a saunter even. The Ambler walks will have a distance limit of 4 miles but most of the walks to date have been 3 miles.
If possible both the Amblers and Ramblers travel on the same transport and get off at different stops to meet the distance to be covered by each group. If possible the finishing point will be the same, usually a cafe or pub for lunch.

What Happens at Group Meetings:
The Group will meet at Old Roan station at 9.40 a.m.

Routes are being chosen to allow members to walk a distance that suits the individual with public transport stations nearby.

The Group will decide on the route to be taken and suggestions are being recorded for future walks.

Does the Group currently have any vacancies? Yes
